Fully Funded University of Tokyo Scholarships in Japan 2022

The University of Tokyo Scholarship in Japan 2022 is now accepting new applications. Japan's National University, UTokyo University, offers fully-funded master's and doctorate degree programs. Knowledge of the Japanese language is not essential, nor is IELTS/TOEFL. According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Tokyo University is ranked first in Japan and 24th worldwide. Tokyo University is the only public university in Japan. This scholarship pays for your all expenditures.

There are no IELTS or TOEFL examinations that must be submitted or taken. You do not need to take the IELTS exam to study at Tokyo University. The scholarship is fully funded by the (MEXT) Japanese government. Many scholarships are available in Japan that does not require IELTS. Applicants from over the world are welcome to apply. Japanese Government Fully Funded Scholarship 

 Financial Coverage:

·    Tuition is paid in full and there are no entrance fees.

·    Monthly stipend: 144,000 yen (for a Master's degree).

·   145,000 yen monthly salary (for a student of a Doctoral Program).

·  Students studying or conducting research in specific locations of the country may be eligible for a 2,000

    or a 3,000 yen monthly stipend.

·    Tuition Fees: There are no enrollment or full tuition fees.

·    Round-trip airfare is included in the cost of travel. Tickets will be supplied for travel to and from Japan to their native nation.

Tokyo Scholarship Period:

The Master's Degree Program will run from October 20, 2022, through September 30, 2024. (2 Years)

The doctoral program will run from October 2022 until September 2025. (3 Years)

Criteria for Eligibility:

·      Students from any countries with diplomatic ties to Japan are welcome to apply.

·     To be eligible, applicants must have been born on or after April 2, 1985.

     Applicants must apply for the same or a related field of study as their previous university.

Language Prerequisites:

All applicants must meet the English language requirements. The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale, has an English proficiency test result of B2 or higher (e.g., TOEFL iBT 72 or above, IELTS 5.5 or above).

OR

Students who attended an English language institution are exempt from the language test if they submit an English Proficiency Certificate from their university.
